FKL Vice-chairman Erastus Okul said the Nigeria match is very important and they need all the best Kenyan players.
“This is not about us anymore. It is about the country and it is bigger than any of us. We cannot allow one individual to take us hostage. We are calling all our best players just like Nigeria have done,” he explained.
“We have to give the match our best shot and there is no excuse for us not to win at home.”
The other players to be recalled include midfielders Emmanual Ake of Danish side Herfolge and unattached Jamal Mohammed.
“This is national duty and all of these players must be on the team. The public also wants them on the team. The coach (Hey) has been informed accordingly. The players must be called to the team,” FKL acting secretary Mohammed Thabit told the Daily Nation on Wednesday.
He added that the decision was reached last week following consultation within the FKL executive, and Hey must implement it or resign.
