Nigeria News: PDP leads by 5,000 votes in Ekiti re run elections, says Arise
Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ekiti state, Senator Ayo Arise, has claimed that the Peoples Democratic Party is leading the opposing Action Congress by about 5,000 votes in the stalemated re run Governorship elections held last Saturday.
Results were only released in only five local governments before the Ekiti state resident electoral commissioner threw in the towel last weekend
The Official results from five out of the 9 local governments where elections took place shows the PDP is leading by less than 500 votes, apart from the outstanding 12,000 lead votes of the Action Congress.
However, Arise contended in an interview today that “official results from all the nine local government s where elections had been held shows that the PDP is leading with more than 5,000 votes after the deficit of 12,000 that the AC had before the re run elections was cleared”
On possibilities of holding an election in the remaining one local government, the Senator said: “elections can not hold in Oye Local Government unless adequate security is provided”.
