Osun State news: Aregbesola to be sworn in tomorrow
Justices of the Federal Appeal Court, Ibadan in South west Nigeria who this afternoon declared the candidate of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), Rauf Aregbesola, winner of the 2007 governorship election in Osun State, also ordered that he be sworn in as the Executive Governor by 12 noon tomorrow.
Nigerians react to Appeal court’s verdict on osun state governorship elections
Three political leaders in Osun state have reacted to yesterday’s ruling of the election appeal court in Ibadan that ordered a retrial of the petition brought by Engineer Rafiu Aregbesola, the Action Congress’s gubernatorial candidate challenging the victory of the Peoples Democratic Party’s candidate Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola in the 2007 Governorship elections in Osun state.
The newly elected Deputy National Chairman, South West Zone of the National Conscience Party (NCP), Chief Amitolu Shittu said the ruling is a plus for democracy, justice and rule of law.
In her response, the Special Adviser to Governor of Osun state Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola on Legal Matters, Barrister Funmilola Lamuye said the will of God during the trial.
The Director of Publicity and Strategy of Osun State Action Congress (AC), Mr Sunday Akere, said the ruling has shown that the court is the hope of common man.
