Ekiti state develops Water Supply and Sanitation policy

Stakeholders in Ekiti state have finalized the state Water Supply and Sanitation policy with a pledge by the State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi to implement programmes that will address acute shortage of improved drinking water supply and safe facilities in the state

At a two day stakeholders’ consultative forum organized to review the States Water Supply and Sanitation policy, Governor Kayode Fayemi pledged to initiate programmes and implement projects that will increase water supply from the present 40% level to 80% level by 2014.

Also speaking at the forum, the Director of Justice, Development and Peace Initiative, Rev. Fr. Raphael Aborisade wcalled for more proactive measures on the part of stakeholders to raise the profile of water supply and sanitation in the State.
