Coach of Nigeria’s under 20 football team, Samson Siasia, warns Ghana to make history by becoming the first African team to win the tournament by beating Brazil in Friday’s final in Cairo.
Nigeria and Ghana have played in two tournament finals each, but neither team has yet to clinch the global youth championship.
Siasia has now disclosed that the Black Satellites are capable of making Africa proud by beating Brazil on Friday.
“I have been most impressed with the fighting spirit of the Ghana squad at this tournament and it would be a shame if an African team does not win one of the four top competitions that FIFA have brought to Africa,” Siasia told Goal.com
“I will also be backing Ghana because the coach, Sellas Tetteh, is a personal friend and we played at Julius Berger of Lagos together.
“I’m very confident that they will do Africa proud by winning the competition.”
Friday’s final will be a rematch between Brazil and Ghana after they clashed at the same stage of the tournament in 1993 with the South Americans running away 2-1 winners in Sydney, Australia.
