Concern Universal launches Talent competition to mark Global Handwashing Day

Ahead Global Hand washing Day holding this Thursday, Concern Universal has launched a ‘talent competition‘ which encourages school pupils to compose Hand washing songs modeled after Nigeria’s artiste – Sunny Neji’s’ ‘O Wash Your Hands” song.

About 2,000 children from 150 schools  across Nigeria will be participating in this event aimed at stopping the spread of preventable water related diseases among children in Nigeria

The Global Handwashing Day is an annual advocacy dedicated to  increasing awareness and understanding about the importance of hand washing with soap as an easy, effective and affordable way to prevent prevention diseases and save lives.

To mark this year’s Global Handwashing Day,  Concern Universal, a UK charity is organising “events across Nigeria where school children will be empowered as ‘Hygiene Heroes’ – hand washing promoters In Their schools, families, and Communities’,

According to  Tim Kellow, Country Director of Concern Universal the ‘talent competition‘ will feature  “children representing each school Will take hand in hand washing games and demonstrations that will empower em to return to their schools and communities and spread the campaigns vital message’

The event already held in Benue and  Cross River states will be rounded up with  a grand finale celebration in Calabar on October 15th.
