Nigerian football authorities have blamed the mozambique football fans for the dismay performances of the Super Eagles in last Sunday’s world cup qualifier. The Nigerian national team was held to a goalless draw by the Mozambique national team in a world cup qualifier.
“Eagles peformances was a result of the hostile environment of the field of play”, says Sani Lulu, President of the Nigerian Football Federation.
“The home advantage is clearly very favourable to home teams in Africa. The environment was not too competitive, the spectators were not friendly and the players were not also used to the turf of play”, he added.
The Super Eagles had been under intense criticism over their dismay performance in the match, that most pundits expect them to win.
