Nigeria government propose new laws to reform labour

The Nigerian Government has presented executive bills to the National Assembly towards the reform of Nigeria’s labour laws

Describing Nigeria’s labour laws as archaic, Minister of Labour, Prince Adetokunbo Kayode, said when passed, the new labour laws will bring Nigeria working environment up to international standard.

Prince Kayode said: “In this direction, we have put in place certain operational workplace policies such as the National Policy on Occupational Safety and Health. The National Policy on HIV/AIDS in the Workplace is also being strengthened. As at today, the President has presented four draft executive labour bills to the National Assembly.”
