The U.S.-based Continental Africa Chamber of Commerce (CACC) has annouced that the 6th U.S.- Africa Trade and Investment Forum would be held in Illinois in the U.S. from Aug. 6 to Aug. 12.
Incorporated in 1981 by some Nigerian entrepreneurs, the CACC is one of the oldest African Chambers of Commerce in the U.S. and it is striving to promote U.S.-Africa business relations.
The Chamber in a statement said that through the Chamber’s forum, Donna Sims of Loop Capital, a Chicago-based company, executed a six-million-dollar ICT project for the Jigawa Government in 2000.
It also said that another U.S. based company, Dredging Supply Inc., supplied dredging equipment worth millions of dollars to Japaul Oil in Nigeria.
The statement said that Maritime Services Plc. in Port Harcourt and ViaSat Inc. in Atlanta jointly handled a multimillion telecommunications project for ABG Telecommunications Company in Nigeria.
