Mobile phone company, Etisalatal Nigeria is targeting a 45 percent coverage of the nation this year and 80 percent coverage by 2010; and towards achieving this target, the company plans to invest two billion dollars to build network infrastructure in Nigeria over the next three years.
Chief Executive Officer, Etisalat Nigeria, Mr. Steven Evans stated that, despite the economic meltdown, Etisalat intends to galvanise competition and reinvigorate the market by aggressive roll out of its products in all nooks and crannies of the country.
He stated that the firm currently has the capacity to accommodate four million subscribers and had already ordered for equipment that will be able to accommodate 12 million subscribers which will be available by September this year.
According to Evan, as the latest entrant into the Nigerian market, the telecommunication firm thrives on creativity and intends to key in on innovation by investing massively in people that the highly creative.
Evan further adds that though, the firm had not yet been in commercial operations for up to a year, it has achieved more than similar companies, who had been in the market in the last six years.
