Communicating for Change (CFC), with support from the Global Fund for Children (GFC), has graduated 12 female teenagers who participated in a10 day video story telling and production workshop.
Communication for Change (CFC) is a non-governmental media organisation which uses radio, TV print, market research, theatre, capacity building, & special events to help change behaviour and attitudes about vital social and environmental issues from a distinctly African perspective.
The comprehensive workshop empowered the 12 girls nominated by the Kudirat Initiative for Democracy (KIND) and Girl Child Concern (GCC) on creative scriptwriting, production, camera operations and the editing process, all undertaken with state of the art technological equipment.
The capacity building workshop is part of a broader initiative, aimed at inspiring talented young Nigerians to tap into their creativity to produce powerful videos in order to reflect their unique viewpoints and surroundings.
The outcome of the workshop will be included in an on-line resource centre, which will be available to local and overseas community based organisations so they too can learn the art of video storytelling and equip young filmmakers with the skills they need to produce their own challenging videos.
