Nigeria News: Ogun state agency recovers N7.5m for aggrieved citizens

A total sum of N7.5m and materials, including one tipper lorry, one deep freezer and two motorcycles have been recovered by theDepartment of Citizens’ Rights of the Ogun State Ministry of Justice for its complainants

The Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Akin Osinbajo stated this recently while briefing the press on the activities of his Ministry, held at the Governor’s Office Press Centre, Oke-mosan, Abeokuta.

He said hundreds of petitions were received while an appreciable number of them have been resolved.
On Administrator-General and Public Trustee Department, the Commissioner noted that 444 applications for letters of administration were received, while 440 were successfully processed, the department also generated a total sum of N32.4m mainly from Oath fees and 10% government commission on administration of estates of deceased persons.
Mr. Osinbajo emphasized that the creation of the Department of Law Development in the Ministry would enhance law reform programmes, noting that the administration of justice system in the State has greatly improved.
He reiterated that the welfare of both Judicial and Law officers remained paramount, saying that certain key projects have been implemented within recommended time-frames in the major sectors of the administration of justice.
