Nigeria Super Eagles forward Osaze Odemwingie was Nigeria‘s best performer in Europe on Saturday when he led West Bromwich Albion to an emphatic 3-2 win over Arsenal at the Emirates in an English Premier League match.
West Brom should have gone ahead in the 38th minute when the former Lokomotiv Moscow player was bundled down by keeper Mauel Almunia for a penalty. Almunia made amends when he caught Chris Brunt effort.
But there was no stopping Odemwingie in the 50th minute as the Edo-born player scored the opener and helped the newly-promoted side to a resounding win. It was the Nigerian‘s third goal in five matches for the Baggies.
In the French Ligue One, Marseille left-back Taye Taiwo, opened scores in the 19th minute as the champions romped to a 2-1 win over visiting Socahux.
