Nigerian cricketers are expected to depart the country on July 15, for a nine-day playing tour of South Africa, ahead of the U-19 Regional Championship qualifiers in Swaziland.
Technical Director of the Nigeria Cricket Federation (NCF) Okon Ubong said Tuesday in Lagos that the qualifiers would hold from July 25 to July 30.
Ubong said 16 players would be accompanied by three officials on the trip being sponsored by the NCF.
He said the tour would enable the team coached by Sean Phillips to acclimatize before the commencement of the six-day championship.
According to him, the NCF was committed to hiring a Zambian turf wicket curator in the third quarter of the year to install the facility at the MKO Abiola Stadium, Abeokuta.
