Nigerian government appeals to aviation workers to support reform measures

Minister of Aviation, Babatunde Omotoba, has appealed to workers in the aviation industry, especially those of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria to cooperate with the Federal Government on its reforms which are aimed at developing the aviation industry.
The Minister made the appeal yesterday at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos when he met with the Managing Director of FAAN, Richard Aisuebegon, and other management officials of the authority representatives of the labour unions.
The Minister who made a remark about government’s concern about the industry and its inherent problems sought the understanding of the workers on the last week’s hand over of the General Aviation Terminal of the airport to Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Limited and advised the workers not to take laws into their own hands, but cooperate with the government to seek ways to improve the industry.
He assured them that there would not be any case of job loss and the FAAN boss also assured air travellers and operators of adequate security while they conduct their business.
