The Federal Government handed over the General Aviation Terminal (GAT) of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport , Lagos (MMIA) to Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Limited (BASL) under tight security yesterday evening ignoring protests from Industry workers and the Arik air
Government last Wednesday stated that the old terminal would be handed over to Bi-Courtney because it was part of the property it inherited when the Federal Airports Authority of Nigerian (FAAN) concessioned the terminal to the company to build, operate and transfer it after 36 years.
The hand over took place at about 6.30 pm at the GAT terminal without fanfare.
The Minister was represented by the Regional Manager, South West of the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria, Mr. Edward Olalerin.
Others who graced the occasion were the FAAN’s Terminal Manager, General Aviation Terminal (GAT), Mr. O. T. Oginni; Chief Executive Officer of Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Limited, Mrs. Idunnu Oyebolu; and Bi-Courtney’s Chief Operations Officer, Mr. Jerome Marinho.
