Nigeria’s former Governor may face N25b graft charge

Nigeria’s anti graft agency- the Economic and Financial  Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested former Ondo state Governor in Nigeria, Olusegun Agagu, but latest reports indicates that he has been released on an ‘administrative’ bail

Dr Agagu is being investigated for allegedly misappropriating N25b oil revenues that accrued to the Oil rich state.

Agagu was until last week, the Governor of Ondo state, South West Nigeria. He was elected governor of Ondo state in 2007, but his victory was annulled by an appeals court last week, clearing the way for his arrest.

Dr Agagu is the eleventh state governor who served under former President Olusegun Obasanjo to face corruption charges.
