Power Sector Presidential Investment Retreat Starts Today

President Goodluck Jonathan would today  declare open a two-day retreat for both local and international investors in the power industry at the State House in Abuja.

The retreat which will be attended by ministers and the heads of government agencies closely involved with the power sector reform, including the Presidential Task Force on Power, the Bureau of Public Enterprises and the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission, will preside over different sessions over the two days.

Nigerian participants include Oanco PLC, Afrinvest, Lafarge Wapco , Dangote Group and Zenith Bank.

A statement signed by Dr Abimbola Agboluaje, Chairman, Sub-Committee on Communica-tions, Dr. Abimbola Agboluaje of the Presidential Task Force on Power noted that there has been keen investor interest in Nigeria’s power since the launch of the Roadmap for Power Sector Reform on August 26 2010.
