United States to assist Nigeria in Rice Production

 The United States has expressed interest in assisting Benue State in Middle Belt Nigeria to fully harness its potentials to cultivate and produce Rice for export.

US Ambassador to Nigeria, Ms. Robin Renee Sanders, said in Makurdi, Benue State Capital while visiting the State Governor, Gabriel Suswan, that the US is willing to help Benue farmers  to see how their products can fulfil  its export potentials  and how the farmers can receive technical expertise to achieve this.

The United States Ambassador said  the US is interested in working with the private sector to increase the export potentials of Rice produced in Benue State, and the US will avail Benue state of the  services of the African Growth Opportunity Act (AGOA) to be able to export Rice to the United States
