A workshop on European Union and Nigeria Cooperation on Energy was held in Abuja on Thursday, October 8. The workshop, which was hosted by the Delegation of the European Commission to Nigeria, took place at the Energy House, Plot 1300, Funmilayo Ransome Kuti Street, Garki II, Abuja.
The objective of the workshop was to open a dialogue between the EC and Nigeria about potential support from the 10th European Development Fund (EDF).
Dignitaries invited included the Ministers and Ministers of State of Petroleum Resources, Power, Planning, Information and Communications, and Environment and the Group Managing Director and other senior executives of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation and the Power Holding Company of Nigeria.
Consultants were hired by the European Commission to carry out the prefeasibility study and to develop a Profile for the Nigerian Energy sector.
The consultants presented their findings to the invited international audience of all the stakeholders in the Nigerian energy sector, including Ministers, other representatives of the Ministries invited, State Governors, European Union Ambassadors, NNPC and PHCN and their subsidiaries, Nigerian and international oil companies, private sector energy consumer companies and other interested stakeholders.
