Zain Launches Package to Boost SMEs

Telecoms operator Zain Nigeria has announced the launch of Small and Medium Enterprises’ (SMEs) package to boost the segment of the economy of the country.

Speaking at the launch on Tuesday in Lagos, Chief Operating Officer of Zain Nigeria, Mr. Deepak Srivastava said the SMEs were the worst hit by the global economic recession and that the package was meant to give life to Nigeria’s economy.

He said the SMEs contribute greatly to nations’ economy. Mr. George Adah, Zain Chief Marketing Officer explained that the Zain MyBusiness offer is a Close User Group (CUG) for staff of small enterprises ranging from two staff to 50.

Each of the staff members on the CUG is charged N1000 monthly subscription and every other call to members of the group having 500 minutes worth of free calls and given 100 megabyte worth of internet access as well as other value added services.

Adah said users could still call other people not in the CUG with the regular recharging but at lower call rates of 33k on-net and 42k off-net.

The monthly bundles fee for all the lines in the account is deducted from the main line or master line on the anniversary date each month.

Other benefits are discounted calls rate to five international destinations and exclusive internet offer including the UAE, China, Germany, United States and the UK and free SMSs.
